Adrienne Forman, M.S., R.D.
Adrienne is a registered dietitian and the Director of Nutrition Communications for Shape Up America!™. She has been our nutrition consultant and writer for many years and was the editor of the Shape Up America!™ newsletter from 2006 to 2009.
Adrienne is also the North American program developer for MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it!), the world’s largest evidence-based provider of child and family weight management services delivered in a community setting. She has been a nutrition and health communications consultant and freelance writer for corporate clients and nonprofit health- related organizations. In prior years, Adrienne was a senior nutritionist at Weight Watchers International, instrumental in creating their weight-loss programs for North America, including the original Points® plan. She was a contributing editor of Environmental Nutrition newsletter for 15 years.
Adrienne is an avid label reader and is amazed at what she finds on the label and the front of food packages that isn’t quite the way it should be. For many years, she has been giving lunchtime talks to groups and enjoys speaking on healthy eating and nutrition, weight management and, of course, how to read labels.
She occasionally travels for business, as far as London. On her most recent business trip she decided to bring a stretch band, to make up for missing her workout at the gym. Her personal trainer was somewhat pleased but still reminded her to do more exercise when she was away.
Adrienne received her master’s degree in nutrition communications from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from the University of Maryland. She has certificates of training in childhood and adolescent weight management and in adult weight management, level 2, from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association).
