This important national conference will be held on
November 21-22, 2003 at Rutgers University - Cook
College Campus, Cook Campus Center in New
Brunswick, NJ. The conference is sponsored by Shape
Up America!, the New Jersey Obesity Group and Rutgers
University Department of Nutritional Sciences. The
conference is designed for people in clinical practice as
well as basic research scientists interested in diabetes
and obesity.

Shape Up America! has just approved Ladies Fitness
Zone in Garden City South, NY to be the first health
club to get the seal of approval.
Ladies Fitness Zone has demonstrated a continual
commitment to its members by not only supporting their
fitness goals with exercise, but also by providing
nutrition, non-fad dieting help and resources, and even
providing sensible materials for weigh management.

| Recipe for Moroccan Halibut Steaks |

1 lb. halibut steaks--
10 sprigs fresh cilantro--
10 sprigs fresh flat leaf parsley--
7-10 cloves garlic, UNPEELED--
2-3 long hot peppers, whole (# depends on heat
preference)--
4 slices of lemon--
½ cup oil--
½ cup water--
½ tsp. cayenne pepper (amount depends on whether
the hot peppers are hot)--
paprika - (enough so oil and water is "reddish")--
salt and pepper to taste--
Lay cilantro and parsley on bottom of large frying pan
that has a lid.--
Place pieces of fish in one layer on top.--
Distribute the garlic cloves on top--
Place lemon slices on top of fish--
Place peppers in pan (but not ON the fish)--
Measure out the water and oil in a measuring cup--
Add the salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne pepper and
stir--
Pour over the fish--
Bring fish to a boil, then lower heat and cover.--
Cook only 5 minutes with cover on,
Then uncover and let most of the water boil away.
Serve hot or at room temperature.

During adulthood, the healthy ranges of body fat differ
for men and women. The body fat ranges for women
are significantly higher than for men. This is both
normal and healthy. One major study showed that the
range of percent body fat increases slightly with age in
both men and women.
