Directions

  1. Choose one category (A, B, or C) that best describes your general activity level for the previous month.
  2. Once you have chosen the category, select the option that best describes your general activity level. For example, if I did not participate in sports or heavy physical activity in the previous month, I would choose Category A. I have two options in that category. The first option is a better description of what I did in the previous month.

ADid not participate regularly in programmed recreation sports or heavy physical activity.


BParticipated regularly in recreation or work requiring modest physical activity, such as golf, horseback riding, calisthenics, gymnastics, table tennis, bowling, weight lifting, yard work.


CParticipated regularly in heavy physical exercise such as running or jogging, swimming, cycling, rowing, skipping rope, running in place or engaging in vigorous aerobic activity type exercise such as tennis, basketball or handball.
