Exercise Across America
Studies show that people are more likely to stick with an
exercise program if they set goals, record their progress, and
get tangible rewards when they achieve their goals. The American
Running and Fitness Associations Exercise Across America
Challenge offers all that and more! Individuals choose a state
they want to walk across and each time they exercise, they record
their miles in the official Exercise Across America log. Beginner
walkers may prefer accumulating mileage to cross Delaware (36
miles), while more advanced walkers may choose Texas (661 miles)
as a goal.
The program is available in two versions: Individual Challenge
and Group Challenge. When persons sign up for the Individual
Challenge, they receive a free brochure complete with game rules,
a log sheet, and exercise tips. If theyd like special
recognition when reaching their goal, they can send AR&FA the
completed log sheet with a minimal processing fee. In return,
theyll receive a personalized certificate, button, and
press release commemorating their accomplishment!
For the Group Challenge, persons can choose from a variety of
kits to help them effectively implement the program in their
business, school, fitness facility, or other group setting.
Participants can order a variety of kits ranging from a set of
ready-to-copy materials to kits in which AR&FA does all the
work, including personalizing certificates and buttons.
For a free Individual Challenge program brochure or to receive
pricing information on the Group Challenge kits (please specify
for which Challenge you are requesting information), send a
business-size, self-addressed, stamped (55¢) envelope to:
