    AR&FA is a non-profit, educational association of recreational and competitive athletes and sports medicine professionals whose mission is to educate the public about the importance of participating regularly in an exercise program and maintaining a healthy diet. Callers can receive answers to their questions on exercise, nutrition, and injury treatment and prevention. The following services are also available:

  • - Sports Medicine Professional Referral Listing – Callers can receive a referral to a sports-oriented health professional (orthopedist, podiatrist, cardiologist, trainer, physical therapist, etc.) in their area.
    - Speaker’s Bureau – Callers can receive a list of experts who will speak on health and fitness topics. Some require a stipend, but most will speak for free.
    - FitNews at the Races – Callers can receive free handouts for events such as health fairs, road races, and fun walks. Available handouts include AR&FA’s monthly eight-page newsletter, a special four-page newsletter dedicated to racing topics, or a brochure on assessing one’s health and fitness status.
